What does gmail 502 Server Error mean?

Posted on September 1, 2009. Filed under: Random |

September 1st, 2009.

Gmail is down at least for half an hour this afternoon as far as I know.

Half an hour ago, I noticed I am not able to attach files to my gmail. In hope the problem will fix, I closed the page then tried to login again. I got 502 Server Error instead, and the Error page says “The server encountered a temporary error and could not complete your request. Please try again in 30 seconds”. Now half an hour later, I still can not use the gmail.

As I researched on 502 Server Error: 502 Error means server congestion, too many connections or high traffic. Seems the gmail server is fine, it is just too busy to serve other users right now. Keep trying until the page loads, good luck.

Update: Gmail comes back now! Cheers.

Me too…It is 1:15PM Mountain Standard Time and I keep getting the 502 error…This stinks…I hope google will have it fixed promptly…

Getting this error too. Looks like Gmail is solidly borked right now. Was worried my corp firewall had blocked some port.

It is 5:04 EST. Thank you for the info. I haven’t been able to get on Gmail for the last few hours, via Mozilla, Internet Explorer, etc. You’re not alone. Think I’ll go and enjoy some WunderPhotos at http://www.wunderground.com Cheers!
